A solo practice, on purpose
Paul M. Marriett is an Illinois lawyer by upbringing, not just by license. Raised in Loves Park in northern Illinois — in a family whose local roots run back generations, to a great-grandfather who kept a tailor shop through the Second World War — he has practiced Illinois law since 2012, standing between ordinary people and the insurance companies, opposing lawyers, and institutions on the other side.
Paul earned bachelor's degrees in Philosophy and Political Science, with a minor in Religious Studies, from Western Illinois University, and his law degree from Florida Coastal School of Law — including time as a visiting student at John Marshall Law School in Chicago, blocks from where this office now sits. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Florida.
He began his career in Florida legal aid, representing people who could not otherwise afford a lawyer, and working to recover compensation for business owners and workers harmed by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. That work shaped how he practices now: taking fewer cases so each client gets real attention, and treating every case as if it may go to trial. This practice is built around the same idea — you work directly with the attorney, from the first call through settlement or trial.
Away from the office, Paul is a father of three who spends his free time outdoors — fishing, hiking, and anything that keeps him off the computer.
